CD-ROM should have a date of September 9,
2003 or later.
If you have a CD-ROM that has a prior date, contact
your organization for a FREE replacement.
PLEASE NOTE: MACINTOSH PLATFORMS
AND NETSCAPE BROWSERS SUPPORTED FOR
SERVER-BASED VERSIONS ONLY.
(1) Some
versions of Internet Explorer,
Netscape, Windows Media Player
or RealPlayer may impose higher
minimum requirements.
(2) Not
required for text-and-graphics
mode.
(3) Some
early releases of Netscape 6.0
contain bugs and should be avoided.
(4) The
security model for Netscape version
6 and higher prohibits linking
or redirecting from a document
at an http:// URL to a document
at a file:/// URL. This makes
it impossible for interaction
between HCCS' server and a customer’s
file server. Therefore, customers
whose end users use Netscape version
6 or higher must not host the
courseware on a file server. They
may host the courseware on a web
server, either in-house or provided
by HCCS.
(5) RealPlayer
8 or higher is required for Windows
95, due to a memory leak.
(6) Not
required for ASP delivery model.
(7) Support
for Mac OS X is to be determined.
(8) Only
the text-and-graphics mode is
supported for IE on the Mac. This
is because IE does not support
scripting of plugins on the Mac,
making it impossible to control
media playback or synchronize
other elements with media.
(9) Scripting
of video or audio events is not
possible for Windows Media Player
with Netscape 6 or higher (MAC
or Windows). Therefore, only text-and-graphics
mode is supported for WMP with
Netscape 6 or higher. All modes
are supported for Netscape 4 with
WMP and for all versions of Netscape
using Real Player
(10) As
of 11/1/2003, HCCS no longer supports
Netscape 4.x. Netscape 4.x
does not support scrollable text
pages and dynamically loaded graphics.
Our newly developed programs will
use these elements. Professional
Compliance and HIPAA compliance
will fully support Netscape 4.x,
but all other courses will not.
Users may proceed with the course
under the Netscape 4.x browser,
however they may experience some
problems viewing scrollable text
pages and dynamically loaded graphics
while viewing some of the courseware
titles.

HCCS has determined that Adobe
Acrobat Reader 7.0 and 7.0.1 will not work
with the HCCS Take-Home CD-ROM courseware (A.K.A
"HCCS Local Content" version). Adobe
Acrobat Reader 7.0 and 7.0.1 do not allow
the CD-ROM courseware to open a PDF file on
the local disk drive, where the courseware
content is stored. All previous versions
of Acrobat Reader permitted this action. On
6/22/05, Adobe released Acrobat Reader
7.0.2. If you are running versions
7.0 or 7.0.1, upgrading will be required to
fix this issue.
