Pain is an unpleasant sensory and emotional experience. And no matter how successful or skillfully performed an operation may be it still produces tissue trauma with the release of potential mediators of inflammation and pain. The purpose of this program is to provide nurses an understanding of how to assess pain, and how to use pharmacological and non-pharmacological techniques to help manage the pain.
