Pediatrics must focus on the developmental stages of the child, and on techniques of providing care in ways that are specific to that stage. This program on pediatrics will address school-age children from six to twelve years of age. It will also address working with families and cultural issues, and suggest ways of providing non-traumatic care. The purpose of this program is to provide nurses and others an understanding of characteristic traits of school-age children and some recommended care issues for that developmental stage, plus cultural considerations and procedures for providing non-traumatic care. |
