Research has indicated that the risk and occurrence of pressure ulcers is high enough in nearly every healthcare setting to warrant concern. The Agency for Health Care Policy and Research (A.H.C.P.R.) has issued a Clinical Practice Guideline, Pressure Ulcers in Adults: Prediction and Prevention. The purpose of this program is to provide nurses with an understanding of the risk factors for pressure ulcers, the stages of the condition and how to prevent them. |
