Dementia is not the result of a normal process of aging. It is a serious disease. The loss of short-term memory and the confusion that often results from dementia can be frightening to the impaired resident - as well as upsetting to family members and friends. This program will discuss the stages of Alzheimer\'s and provide strategies for dealing with common problems associated with the disease. The purpose of this program is to provide nurses with an understanding of the stages and problem behaviors of Alzheimer's Disease and practical techniques for intervention to maintain as much quality of life as possible. |
