A learning opportunity is provided for nurses to gain a general understanding of the components involved in providing effective prevention, intervention, and management of the most common complications that may occur as a result of cancer treatment. These components include identifying signs and symptoms of treatment side effects and related complications, evaluating patient risk factors, implementing preventive measures and performing nursing interventions. |
