Upon completion of the module, the learner will be able to:

  • Identify the qualities of a well written, user-friendly policy and procedure document.
  • Identify tools and materials which help the manager develop departmental policy and procedure.
  • Describe the two major phases of policy and procedure development and the tasks associated with each phase.
  • Identify the process and purposes for conducting multiple draft reviews and revisions.
  • Describe elements of structure and style which make documents easy to read.
  • Apply what has been learned to researching, designing, and writing an effective policy/procedure.
