This overview will help to prepare you for the flow of events that occur in the operating room. It also will introduce you to the duties and responsibilities of the circulating nurse. Knowledge about role expectations and function will help you anticipate the needs of the patient and the surgical team. This basic overview is necessary before studying the other modules. It will provide you with the fundamentals that encompass the activities of the circulating role in the operating room. Once an overview of the circulating role is understood, it will be possible to move on to other modules. These modules will cover, in depth, all of the topics germane to the circulating role. |
