Plan for and address special patient needs and appropriately respond to emergency situations; Seek anesthesiology consultation for high risk patients; Use oxygen supplementation when necessary or where feasible; Adequate oxygen saturation does not equal adequate ventilation; Monitor the recovery phase and discharge the patient according to direct observation or predefined criteria; Remember that sedation has its limitations- some patients should not receive moderate sedation; Consultation with an anesthesia provider is indicated in these situations |
