The online courses are designed for organizations with large staffs to educate all employees on patient safety, reducing medication errors and preparations for bioterrorism and other disasters.

"Safety procedures and preparedness have never been under more scrutiny then they are at this time," says Mitchell Diamond, President of HCCS. "Any organizational quality review must include a focus on these critical areas. These new courses are designed to quickly and effectively educate every staff member on vital information."

Patient safety, reducing medication errors and bioterrorism and disaster preparation are among the central issues addressed by the new Joint Commission survey process. The new Joint Commission standards are far reaching and apply to more than just physicians and nurses. They include everyone in the healthcare organization that has direct or indirect contact with patients. In addition, they are all major, national quality care initiatives, whether or not Joint Commission accreditation is being sought.

Joint Commission COMPLIANCE SUITE

These three new courses are part of the larger HCCS Joint Commission Compliance Learning Suite of 10 courses. Created by Joint Commission specialists and experts in interactive education, the HCCS Joint Commission Compliance Suite explains Joint Commission accreditation, survey standards and procedures. It does so through a series of entertaining, concise and easy to follow courses.

The suite consists of 10 new online multimedia courses that address the newest Joint Commission standards. Each will be automatically updated as the standards and procedures change. Like all HCCS courses, these new courses provide for job-function specific learning.
