HCCS has teamed up with “Adopt-a-Soldier Platoon” and Nassau University Medical Center to boost morale of our deployed military units overseas.
One of the projects we just completed was to get 160 "colorful" scrubs for one of the hospitals in Kuwait. The chaplain reported that the brown scrubs they use are depressing and it would cheer up the troops to get colorful scrubs. The hospital staff will be thrilled to receive the colorful scrubs we are sending with NUMC. The soldiers will receive a friendly reminder that the people back home care about them.
"Adopt-a-Soldier Platoon" works with various deployed military units, sending care cartons and engaging in special projects with the goal of improving morale and letting the Soldiers, Sailors, Marines and Airmen know that we care. Their website is http://www.adoptasoldierplatoon.org.

A New Mission
As other US Military hospitals and medical treatment facilities in the Middle East are learning about this mission, new requests for colorful scrubs are coming in. We've just received a request for colorful scrubs from the medical hospital at Camp Cropper (Theater Internment Facility) in Iraq. So keep those scrubs coming!
A Personal and Corporate Mission
In addition to this program, HCCS staff have even donated personal time in African farms and clinics. HCCS is fully committed to taking care of the world around us on both a corporate and personal levels.
If your healthcare institution would like to get involved in similar programs please contact Ben Diamond to share what is on your heart.
